Experimath Workshop at Rosary High School, Navelim

The 3-day EXPERIMATH workshop conducted by NAVNIRMITI EDUQUALITY FOUNDATION in collaboration with ROSARY HIGH SCHOOL OF NAVELIM was conducted under the dynamic leadership of Rev. Fr. Gabriel Coutinho and Headmistress Mrs. Aurora D’Souza. The workshop was designed on Activity based teaching with emphasis on guided and free play, problem solving and enquiry based. Teachers were in agreement with current mass math failure and children developing fear of mathematics due to rote memorization and exam centric teaching i.e. Learning without understanding, not connected to real life.

All the activities were structured keeping in mind the NCERT Textbooks and the aligned.

NEP 2020 Guidelines. An initiative to move ahead with NEP with Activity based Teaching. There were almost 90 teachers who participated from schools of South Goa.

Teachers were working in groups, were actively involved in activities, collaborating with each other and exploring the world of mathematics in a hands-on way which has been incredibly rewarding.

The workshop concluded with the message of Quality for Equality, Doing and understanding.

We thank the Manager Rev. Fr. Gabriel Coutinho, Headmistress Mrs. Aurora D’Souza and staff at Rosary High School for taking the initiative in organizing the much-needed workshop which will help the teacher in the long run as per NEP guidelines.
